The track that kicked off Bone’s recent Slam Radio mix up, The EP’s B-side, “Rhythm Soul Funk” is a genuine hard hitter and another that tiptoes between the old school and the nouveau. A distorted, and relentlessly looped vocal from Bone himself kicks things off before the introduction of the track’s real calling card – grin-inducing old school funky stabs that remain a constant from here on in. More pacey drums and groove provide ample support as the track progresses; no epic ups, downs, breaks or drops here from Bone, and rightly so. Sheer, cognitive groove and funk on a track that will be as well received at midnight as it would at 6am.

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
