Having announced his intention to bring his storied Subject Detroit to a close after 25 years, DJ Bone presents FURTHER, the new label from the Detroit techno icon now based in Amsterdam.

The first official release is both a signature EP from a rising star and a declaration of intent from the label itself: ‘We Ain’t Like Them’ sees Yeti Mind Tricks kickstart the label with three thrilling original cuts which perfectly showcase the producer’s UK-meets-Detroit style, complimented by a relentless remix from Bone himself.

The Glasgow-based producer came to Bone’s attention in 2022 following a pair of EPs for DJ 3000’s Motech label. Having been curator & resident of the long running BASSment club night in his home city, YMT has also released on the labels Kuukou, Jackie Knows Karate and PL7.

He made his FURTHER event debut for their KINGS of Kingsnight event at RADION.Amsterdam in April, joining a line-up including Bone, Moodymann, DJ Stingray 313 and Detroit In Effect. He is back with the FURTHER family again on ADE weekend this year as part of the Homeless Homies annual fundraiser – alongside guests including Floorplan, KiNK, Lady Starlight, DJ Hyperactive and STERAC – donating their time & talent for free to raise money for the charity DJ Bone & Ahnne Araza founded to help the unhoused over two decades ago.

DJ Bone says: “I decided to kick off my new label FURTHER with a release from Yeti Mind Tricks titled ‘We Ain’t Like Them’, due to those words uttered throughout the track. Yeti sent it to me as a demo and after playing it out a few times I knew that this was more than a track: it was a raw and to-the-point description of myself and the entire FURTHER crew.”

As with Subject Detroit, FURTHER will be operated as a non-profit entity, with all label profits directed to Homeless Homies.
